About Me
I am passionate about Yoga and its benefits - physically, emotionally and spiritually, and want to encourage as many people as possible to experience Yoga.
I have always had an interest in yoga but came to it whole heartily after having a major operation. I wanted a practice that would mend me physically and spiritually. I had one-to-one lessons to begin with then enrolled with a class. I joined the British Wheel of Yoga and to deepen my practice took the Foundation Course. I so enjoyed that and decided that I wanted to encourage others to experience and feel the benefits of a yoga practice. I completed the two and half years training to achieve the British Wheel of Yoga teaching diploma. I have also been fortunate to have lessons from a fabulous teacher when we were spending several winters in India and a positive outcome from the pandemic is that these have been able to continue over zoom.
This website is a one way of explaining and giving an insight of how Yoga can benefit us all whatever our size, age and ability. (I am not in my first flush of youth or a size 10!!). I believe that we all have the opportunity to learn throughout our lives. I like to think that Yoga is taking me on 'a journey' (dislike that phrase but...) and would like to share with you my path of learning, experience and knowledge so far.
I am now back living in Torquay, close to my family but continue to teach back in the Okehampton area. I much prefer taking Yoga out to small communities and choose to teach mainly in small venues like village halls - currently in Belstone, Whiddon Down and Okehampton all about 20 mins from Exeter.
I am available to teach on a one to one basis in your home. I often hold yoga days and another way of joining in - is to come and stay on one of the Yoga weekend breaks held in a beautiful part of Devon.
My teaching style is one of fun, with practical tips and is definitely non-competitive.
